Revolutionary Skin Care

Revolutionary Skin Care

You probably know by now that your skin reflects what you consume. You have probably heard all about eating lots of vitamins and nutrients, and taking care to select the best skin care products. But, how much do we know about Omega-3?

A few years ago, Omega-3 was quite popular. Numerous skin care products contained this ingredient, and nearly every health expert in the world was preaching about its benefits. Well, new studies have shown that these fatty acids are actually more important than was once believed. The problem is that North Americans don't really consume much of this acid at all.

Omega-3 can be found within fish oil. Of course, this means that you will have to consume more fish. While the idea might not be appealing to all people, this change in diet is sure to have your skin glowing in no time. Fish oils are incredibly helpful when it comes to overall health. Consuming lots of fish oil will help you to fight numerous cardiovascular diseases, increase joint movement, and help with difficult mental disorders.

Additionally, Omega-3 can help fight against numerous skin disorders. Skin problems such as eczema, dry skin, itchy skin, acne, and various other allergic reactions can be avoided by an increase in Omega-3. If you're still not sold on the idea of eating more fish, consider some other alternatives. Foods including: walnuts, vegetables, and fresh fruits also help to keep your skin healthy...and many of these foods also contain Omega-3.

While people search high and low for a way to prevent aging, the answer to aging might have been in your plate all along. Who would have thought that warding off skin problems and fighting aging could be done with food? Of course, you have to purchase the right skin care products too. In fact, combining skin care products with a great diet is the perfect way to keep your skin looking fantastic for years to come.

As many people keep searching for that fountain of youth, those "in the know" are wise to the benefits of food. In addition to eating lots of foods rich in Omega-3, take the time to learn about vitamins. Vitamins such as E, A, and C will also prevent your skin from reaching that aged look. Those people that respect food and skin care knowledge never really experience poor skin.

Whether you are fighting off some type of skin condition or whether you want to stop the signs of aging, don't neglect the power of vitamins and nutrients. Along with top-notch skin care products, vitamins and nutrients are the only way to equip your body with the fighting power that is needs. There are lots of things to fight against when it comes to protecting your skin - make sure that you are armed well.

Great skin care is an uphill battle that can't be fought without the right equipment. Make Omega-3 your friend; purchase great skin care products; and start battling against all of those elements that make your skin age. While the expression "you are what you eat" sounds a little foolish, it is more than true when it comes to your skin's condition.

Skin Care Tips - How to Deal With Combination Skin

Skin Care Tips - How to Deal With Combination Skin

Caring for combination skin can sometimes seem a fickle matter. Too much moisturizing and the oily spots get worse. Too much cleansing and the dry spots get worse. It takes balanced skin care to deal with both issues at once. It also never hurts to try a few skin care products that improve general skin health.

Before you try to follow any combination skin care tips, you need to identify how that combination puzzle is put together. What areas of skin have excess oil? What areas are too dry? What areas fall into the normal category? Once you determine these factors, you can treat your combination skin with much more ease.

You need to aid your skin in balancing from the inside out. The best way to do this is to stay hydrated and drink lots of water. It's a tired statement, but still the truth. Healthy, hydrated skin has an easier time balancing and repairing.

Always use a mild cleanser to remove dirt and oil from combination skin. Keeping it mild means it won't over dry the dry areas but will still remove oil from the oily areas. You can also find cleansers made specifically for combination skin, but make sure to read the label. Many combination skin cleansers are nothing more than a mild soap with a special name and increased price.

The biggest secret to dealing with combination skin is to deal with each area separately. You'll need to treat one area, such as your oily skin, and then treat the other area. Though you can find products that do both, this is usually the easy way out. The easy way out rarely results in impressive and healthy skin.

Alcohol-free toners and astringents are very useful for helping maintain balance in your skin. Make sure whatever you use is alcohol-free, though, or it will make your dry patches even worse. Apply a small amount of the liquid to your face, ideally in only the oily areas.

When it comes to moisturizing your dry patches, make sure to use an oil-free lotion. Oily lotions will seep into your oily skin as well as your dry skin, causing possible break-outs. You want skin care products that hydrate your skin, not ones that cake it in fatty or oily substances.

Combination Skin - What it is and How to Take Care of It

Combination Skin - What it is and How to Take Care of It

Combination skin is exactly that - a combination of both oily and dry skin. The areas of your face by the nose, chin and forehead, which are known as the T-zone, tend to be oily and prone to blemishes while the cheeks, eyes and mouth are dry. Combination skin is the most popular skin type and almost seventy percent of women today have it.

The find out if you have combination skin, you can take a simple "tissue test". Put a piece of tissue over your nose, forehead and chin and if it sticks and picks up translucent oil, this part of your face is oily. Then try to stick the tissue to your cheeks and if it doesn't stick or pick up oil, this part of your face is dry. Also, combination skin usually has medium-sized pores, healthy color and a smooth texture. Once you are sure you have combination skin, there are several suggestions to keep in mind:

- Understand that your face actually has two types of skin which will be treated differently, depending on how dry or oily each part it.

- Wash your skin twice a day with an extremely mild but effective cleanser, such as a gel or foam, that can be used on your entire face. Avoid harsh, drying bar soaps.

- A gentle toner can be used on the entire face. If oily areas are particularly greasy, you may want to have a separate toner designed for oily skin to eliminate the problem on certain days when there is increased sebum production.

- Moisturize the dry areas of your skin with an oil-free moisturizer twice a day.

- Treat only the oily areas and blemishes with topical products that inhibit oil production.

- Remember to exfoliate all areas of the skin. You can use two different masks for the two types of skin on your face - a clay mask on the oily parts and a moisturizing mask on the dry ones.

- Use an oil-free sunscreen on your entire face every day of the year to block harmful UV rays.

Make the most of the combination skin you are in by taking proper care of its unique differences so you can bring out the best in both its oily and dry areas.
